This unit is designed for mechanical sediment removal from drains with radial or vertical flow (up to 15 m depth) with no central support column. The unit is equipped with a fixed platform embracing the tank and during operation the load is focused in the working bridge center. Wastewater flows evenly from the center of the tank to its periphery through a guide tube. As the flow velocity decreases, suspended substances in wastewater settle to tank bottom. A sludge scraper at tank bottom collects the deposited sludge into a central sludge hole, which is then purged and discharged out of the sludge pipe by static water pressure.
