Product Review:
MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology increases reactor cleaning efficiency due to adding special flotation media, increasing the biomass and diversity of microorganisms within the reactor. This results in increased cleaning efficiency. Due to media density close to water density, there is complete mixing with water during aeration, thus creating a three-phase medium of gas-liquid-solid for microbial growth. The collision and the shearing action of media in water results in a decreasing size of air bubbles, thereby increasing the oxygen use. Each medium supports various microorganism types both inside and outside: anaerobic or facultative anaerobic bacteria grow inside, while aerobic bacteria grow outside and thrive. Such a configuration effectively turns each media into a micro-reactor, allowing nitrification and denitrification reactions to proceed simultaneously, and thereby increasing treatment efficiency.
Application Sphere:
MBBR technology is applicable in aerobic reactors where the floatation of air bubbles during aeration provides mixing of biological media and ambient water.
This allows the media to move through the entire reactor volume with the water mass. The main system components are the vessel enclosure, biological media, aeration or mixing system, and the drain basket.
The volume and type of bio-bed are designed based on the chemical composition of your wastewater. Highly accurate placement of aerators ensures the absence of stagnant zones in the reactor. MBBR technological solutions allow for the easy modernization of existing treatment plants, increasing their capacity by 2-3 times without expanding the footprint, which is backed by our process stability guarantee.
