An activated carbon filter is the unit filtering water through an activated carbon layer. The carbon layer is composed of activated carbon particles with numerous micropores and a broad surface to deliver powerful adsorption capacity.

When water passes through the activated carbon layer, organic pollutants are effectively adsorbed on its surface. In addition, the non-crystalline part of activated carbon contains oxygen-containing functional groups, which also contribute to effective adsorption of organic impurities in water.  The activated carbon filter can effectively remove low molecular weight organic matter, free oxygen, odors and heavy metal ions.

Application Sphere:

The activated carbon filter can remove a wide range of impurities, remove odors generated by phenols and petroleum products, reduce color and turbidity caused by iron, manganese, humic acids or organic pollutants.  It also partially removes COD, BOD, chlorides and aromatic compounds (such as benzene, phenol), as well as heavy metal ions, residual chlorine, synthetic detergents, etc. This filter allows to improve water quality, increase reliable and stable operation of the equipment. Activated carbon filter is suitable for water deodorization and discoloration in municipal water supply systems, water treatment in beverage and food industries, deep treatment of purified water systems, domestic wastewater treatment, treatment of heavy metal ions in industrial wastewater, as well as for treatment of geothermal, well, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, ion-exchange water and other raw water pre-treatment systems.
