Inclined tube (plate) settler is a combination sedimentation device of high efficiency.
It is derived from the settler theory of
shallow tank.
In the sedimentation area, multiple closely placed inclined tubes or plates are arranged so that impurities suspended in water can be deposited on them by gravity. The water flows upward through the built-in pipes or plates, and the separated sludge flows downward, and is concentrated and discharged at tank bottom.
This type of settler can improve sedimentation efficiency by 50-60 per cent and increase treatment capacity by 3-5 times over the same surface area.
